Guiding and Growth Status Monitoring System for Riding-Type Tea Plucking Machine

A system that guided an operator to steer a tea plucking machine is developed.

The system also monitored the growth status of tea trees while scouting.

The tasks were achieved using FCN-8s and ENet.

The FCN achieved a mean IoU of 0.964 in segmenting tea canopies from background.

The guiding system significantly reduce the steering error in field tests.
