Determination of Geographical Origins of Agricultural Products Using Different Spectroscopic Methods
-
Three vibrational spectroscopies, including near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy, Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and surface enhanced Raman (SERS) spectroscopy, were applied to develop the models of origin discrimination in astragalus and angelica.
-
After acquiring samples spectra and preprocessing with pretreatment algorithm, four methods - principal component analysis, k-nearest neighbor, random forest, and support vector machine, were adapted to develop the discrimination models for the origins.
-
The best model was developed using random forest on the FTIR spectra with the accuracies of 97% in astragalus and 94% in angelica, respectively.
